Dometic 320

So. My Dometic 320 elongated porcelain toilet (longest name ever) is not working correctly. The pedal opens the drain but it does not pop back into place. I have to lift the pedal to close it & even when I do, the water continues to run to overflowing. Is this a fixable part? I spoke to a parts specialist & was told the whole thing needed to be replaced. My hope is that because I’m a greenhorn, I didn’t explain correctly & it is actually replaceable. Anyone else had this issue?

Not sure why your pedal does not come up, spring off?
Also sounds like your valve may be bad.
You probably should take the toilet apart to find the problem.
Plenty of parts on ebay.

Peace

Don't have this specific toilet, but have had the spring pop off on mine before. Barring an actual broken spring, you can get them back on .

Take a look at this video where the peddle and valve are disassembled.

I had the same trouble and I found that the shaft broke off (see 1247) I made up a new stronger shaft from part way down timed pressed it in and glued it in it worked OK alas no parts out there.
I changed the 320 out because I had also found problems with internal leaking and rotting the floor beneath the pedestal no gaskets to buy for between the bowel and pedestal.

Thx for the info, Dave. I never even considered eBay for parts.
