Dometic 3962 Refrigerator E-1 error F I X

Have had E-1 Error problem (in electric /or/ gas mode) for a year and a half now. When the E-1 error occurs, the refer shuts down. Dometic had the circuit board replaced, but the problem continued. Every time I e-mail Dometic, the "fix" is to go to a RV repair shop (they have no clue as to a fix). Stopped at a Camping World and the techy found a POSSIBLE fix in his (secret) techy web site. If the refer is crowded, place a fan on the bottom shelf in a corner, with clear space up to the cooling fins. It has been a month now with no E-1 error!

That's interesting. The 3962 manual says that an E1 code means: Disconnected LP gas valve or hardware fault in the LP gas operation system. The refrigerator may still be operational on 120 VAC.

Does this occur when running the frig on shore power, or just when it's on LP?

Did some Googling and most agree this is a Hardware Error to do with the Gas Operation system.

Yes, in most cases, it was the Thermistor. Either bad Thermistors or those that were crowded by food.
