Hi dpuhlein,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

First thing I'd do is call Heartland Customer Service at 877-262-8032 / 574-262-8030. Have your VIN # ready. Even though you're a little out of warranty, it's possible Heartland may help. It won't cost anything to ask.

In terms of troubleshooting, is your battery charged? Are other 12V systems working when not plugged in to shore power? Interior lights, furnance, refrigerator?

There's a row of 12V mini-circuit-breakers near the battery, one of which is usually a manual reset. If it trips, the battery won't charge while on shore power, and can run down too low to operate things like landing jacks. I've attached pictures. The reset button is teeny-tiny and hard to see.

Also, on the electric front jacks, I think there may be an inline fuse in the wiring bundle. Others may have more detailed guidance on this.

When I disassembled my OEM electric jacks, there was no inline fuse to be found. I'm pretty sure the breaker that Dan shows is the only thing between the jacks and the battery.

Hi dpuhlein,

I think you'll have to trace the wiring back from the motor to a junction box or wire nut connection. Then you can check voltage while someone presses the switch.

I had a similar situation when my rear stabilizer quit working. Before figuring out it was the motor, I tried checking the switch. I removed it from the wall and was able to insert the probes from my VOM between the connectors and the blades on the switch to check voltages as I manipulated the switch. You might be able to do the same with the front jack switch by loosening the connector enough to get the probe tips in.

In my case, it was the springs for the motor brushes, which I repaired.

But don't you have a similar post on the forum about this? I think they gave you some ideas about using jumpers to see it the motor works. Remove the connector from the switch and give that a try.

There is an in line fuse for the front landing gear usually in the front storage area.

My 3300CK has an inline fuse and the first time I hooked it up at the dealer I lifted the legs too far and blew the fuse. I had no idea what was wrong when I got it home. Had to crank the legs down. I would recommend drawing or scribing a line on the legs for a max retract point of reference.

We bought our Sundance 293RE last May, have had it out maybe 5 times and our motor for the landing gear is out, along with the worm gear. The dealer says we're out of warranty by 2 months.

Hi 2Restore,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and to the family. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

Did you or your dealer actually check the motor and gear, or just guessing?

Call Heartland Customer Service, 574-262-8030 or 877-262-8032, have your VIN when you call and ask for help, you never know what will happen until you ask for a favor.

Let us know what happens.
