Kristy, I have been talking with Rod about coming to this Rally from Monitor, WA. I just made my reservation at the casino today. We are from Texas and would love to meet everyone and have some fun!! I will fill out the survey you talk about in your post. I hope you have room for us! Thanks, Elaine Poole

Of course we have room!

We look forward to meeting you too! If I remember right from reading the WA thread, you plan to come in with us in the caravan, so that puts you in on the 23rd. What is your departure date or are you playing that by ear?

See you soon. Travel safe!

Kristy

PS for everyone. That leaves us with 9 sites right now. We have gotten three new reservations just this week!

Do we want a wood fire like last year or does everyone prefer propane fire rings? I have a propane ring and a table top propane heater as well. Just want to know if I should bring wood and my wash tub again.

I was just thinking about that! Why don't we just stick to propane this year. It will cut down on smoke and we won't have to worry about sparks.

Gail and I made reservations this morning with Mill Casino. We plan to arrive Thursday July 23 and depart Sunday July 26. We would like to stay longer but must be in North East S. Dakota by August 1 for a family reunion. We look forward t seeing everyone again.

Glad you and Gail can make it this year! I put you down for the one teeshirt. I have an order for two others plus ours. That makes 5 so far. I know others said they were interested. Do we have 20 or close to it to make it worthwhile ordering them?

If you for sure want to order shirts.....

Let me know by email or PM. You can post it here, but email works best.

We now have 22 rigs plus the Beletti's. At least 20 are arriving the 23rd.

Final decisions have not been made because we still have 7 people left to fill out the survey.

As it looks right now:

Dinner on the 24th in town is an overwhelming hit.

Three quarters of the responses support catering the meat for Saturday night at an additional charge. Once I figure out how much to order, I will know how much extra it will be per person if we do that.

I need to have sizes and actual commitment to teeshirts to make sure we have enough to make it work.

There has not been any overwhelming interest in any one activity so far. If one doesn't appear, we may just leave Saturday during the day open for people to catch a fishing trip, go golf, do some sightseeing, etc. We'll see how that turns out.

7 or 8 want to pay Henderson's Lineup $69.99 to weigh and inspect suspension on their rig. I'm working that out with the Mill and with Robert from Henderson's. Hopefully we can put it together for the group within Robert's schedule.

We have a few who are interested or maybe interested in hearing from SkyMed about their travel protections plans. They wanted to be there even though I told them it might not be worth it, but maybe it will be worth it if there are people who want to listen. If you want to know more about this, PM me and I will do what I can. I'm not trying to advertise for them, but I will point you in the right direction if you want to do some research.

We added four more to the list this week which is fantastic. We now have 7 sites left in our block.

So, that is where we end this week!:D

Have a good weekend!

Hello Ziggy and Mark,
Docent Tours:
Just a thought about your survey regarding possible "activities" for the Heartland group. I would like to suggest a local DOCENT bus tour of the area that might include the following:
1. the historical areas like the down town area, arts and museums
2. Docent tour of the Botantical gardens, fishing ports, local lumber and fishing industries.
I just really enjoy learning and discovering on tours when you have a good "Docent". I also enjoy not having to drive around in my truck especially in areas I am not that familiar with.
3. I think it would be fun to have a reserved lunch event as part of the tour, probably some resturant with great fish.
Just some thoughts from your friends in Chico,
Dick and Diana Garcia

Thanks for the ideas. I just sent the question to our planner to see what she might know about the subject.

WARNING: Long Post But Important Information

I just posted a table in the first post of this thread that has my current information for everyone. Please check and let me know if anything is incomplete or incorrect.

I took the caravan info straight from the WA rally thread.

Quite a few people haven't taken the survey yet. I would appreciate it if you could do that soon. Here is the link again.

Now For The Good News!

I reserved one of the supersites in front of the yurt for Thursday the 23rd so we would have a good location for rig weighing. Robert and his crew from Henderson's Lineup will meet us there on Thursday the 23rd in time for the arrival of the caravan. We can line up in the dirt lot across from the Park and file into the supersite one at a time. He said they will weigh each tire on both the truck and trailer for $69.95.

While people are waiting to be weighed, they can check into the park and get their site assignment. Robert will have a display of other products like some new special trailer shocks he is going to start selling and installing. He also said something about a controller for refrigerators that is supposed to cut down on breakdowns and fires. He just came from the big Quartzite where he did a presentation for a Heartland group about these new products. He is excited about seeing our group again before he and his crew head for a show in WI.

After the weighing, they will go to people's sites and do suspension inspections for free as time permits. You will get a written report of what he finds. We have had him do this for two other rallies and for the Pacific Regional Rally at Seven Feathers a couple of years ago. I don't know that he will be able to get to everyone, so we will do a signup sheet for that along with a signup for the weighing.

We have 8 people who expressed interest in the weighing. Two of those are not traveling in the caravan. We might be able to work it out that Robert could get you weighed before the caravan arrives. We would need to work that out with him.

I need a firm commitment from people so I can give Robert a number of rigs to expect. I need a number by the middle of June, so there is some time yet. I would like to be able to tell him soon that there are at least 8 rigs for sure so he knows it will be worth his time.

It has been a busy planning week! I will be without my computer for a couple of weeks, so I will be checking in on my iPad. Some things are harder to do with that, so I may not update lists for a while. Don't let that stop you from posting, discussing, and making reservations if you haven't yet.

Take Care!

Hi Kristy,

How long will the weighing be done? We have a 6+ hour drive. Please change our arrival to 7/23 so we can get in on it. Our departure is 7/27. If we can be weighed later in the day (5pm perhaps, maybe a bit earlier), please sign us up.

Thanks

Bob,
We will see what we can do. I don't really know how long the weighing will take.
