I wanted to share the information that the Campground appears to be filling up and I'm sorry to say that I waited to long to book. We finally figured out our schedules would allow us to swing the dates so I just called to reserve a site, but there is only one 50 amp site left at the campground that could fit our camper, site A. Unfortunately I don't want to stay at a site right next to the dumpster, so hopefully we'll catch up to everyone at a different Rally or next year!

Sorry to hear that but needing 50A in PA in April is highly unlikely. I'm sure there are other sites large enough to accommodate your rig.

Before I added an electric reel to our trailer, probably 70% or more of our camping was done on 30 amps

I knew this may happen as CG has a limited number of 50A sites.
So for anyone else considering joining us factor this into your decision.

Oh man, you got to come. We need another RAM sitting in the mix. Sort of even things out with all those Fords. LOL

Hopefully you can work something out.

X2!! If 50A was a requirement, I'd have had to pass on many spots where we've stayed.

But didn't Fiat just get hit with an emissions law suit like VW.
The EPA has announced some kind of filing on certain Fiat/Chrysler diesel vehicles because there's some software they say could affect emissions and they say it wasn't disclosed as required by law. Fiat/Chrysler says the claim is complete nonsense - just normal engine software. I'm sure more will be revealed soon.

We do know that we could camp on just 30 amps, but we just purchased this camper in the end of October and have only had it out twice. Our first time out the shower faucet leaked, unfortunately it was positioned directly over top of the converter so that died and it was an interesting weekend when we lost all 12 volt power. It took us 3 weeks to get the camper back from the dealer and we squeezed in the second trip, which was just a short 3 night trip to Hershey the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Since we haven't really had a chance to use it, we'd prefer to be connected to 50 amps for a few trips before we reduce down to 30 amps.

Sorry to hear that but losing a converter certainly shouldn't deter you from hooking up to 30a regardless of the number of trips or your destination.
Either way maybe you'll be able to attend a rally another time, another place!!

I hook my rig to 30 amp about 70% of the time, lot easier than dragging a 50 amp cord around and everything will work on 30 amp.

From Post #69...
"Heartland Gives Back--For our PA Rally, Nancy and I are requesting donations from you which will in turn be given to the American Cancer Society in honor of Hank Vogt, a member of our PA Chapter, who at this time is battling cancer.
A friend to anyone who has attended rallies in the NE, keep him in your prayers."

Update--Well, unfortunately we lost Hank recently and he now sits in heaven with a front row seat watching all of our HOC family shenanigans!
Nancy and I visited with the American Cancer Society and picked up donation forms for everyone to donate now in the "memory" of our friend Henry "Hank" Vogt. Look for those in your rally goodie bag upon arrival.
