Fireplace Odor

The last 2 times we have used the fireplace after an hour or two we start getting an odder as if something is overheating, has anyone else experienced this problem?

I don't know if this worked or not ... but there has been much talk of hot fireplaces ... if this link did not work then do a search for fireplaces and this should help you ... good luck

We don't have any odor of any kind using ours. However it has only been on about three hours maximum at a time.

yes that happened to us. It smelled as if wires were burning, but we could not find any problem except the counter above would get hotter than it should. Fireplace was replaced and that solved the problem. It should not put out any smell.
