FIXED: Black Tank Flush not working

I was draining Bighorn after trip and when i went to flush the black tank after draining it the flush line pressured up. would not put any water into tank it looks like and just pressured it up. I left hose on the flush with water going into it and went inside unit to check commode, when flushing it there was fluid coming out like i was hooked up to city water or on the pump.

And yes i was hooked up to the correct line to flush., thanks for any help

Re: Flush

Something’s not right. The black tank flush line should go directly to the tank. The toilet should not be connected to it. Is this the first time you’ve used it?

Re: Flush

Has it ever worked for you?

If not, then I would expect your check-valve was installed backward and it is not allowing water to enter the Black Tank flushing system (which sprays water directly to the inside of your Black tank)

Re: Flush

If this is a new unit and you are close to your dealer or a repair shop I would let them deal with this under warranty.

Re: Flush

You probably have a kink in the soft line. I've seen quit a few of them like that already. From the back of the Docking station you have hard Pex lines going up into the wall behind the shower to the anti back flow valve then back down again, then it will elbow into a soft hose going from there to the tank. most of the ones I've seen are kinked as they bend over the frame and around the corner of the tank. I'll see if I have a picture of it. pull down the basement wall and you'll find it. Take a trash can and a vacuum with you when you go in. LOL

Here's the pictures I found from a Big Horn last year
This one was not that bad but I've seen a lot worse.

Re: Flush

OK, IF you were connected to the correct inlet and DID NOT have city water connected OR the water pump on, there should not have been any flow into the toilet bowl. If you still had city water connected and on, then you will get flow into the bowl, regardless of what the tank flusher is doing.

The only water hooked up to the unit was the water hose at the dump and it was tied into the flush line

Re: Flush

The water that ran into the toilet was probably head pressure in the water system from your last use, unless it continued to flow.

Re: Flush

OK, it sounds like either a severe kink in the flush line or the ASV is connected backwards. If you have a round plastic port in the bathroom or shower, the ASV may be behind it and you can check it. If it’s a line that’s kinked, you’ll have to take down the basement walls to get at it.

With mine, it’s a combination of white reinforced water hose and PEX piping.

Re: Flush

WOW that's pretty bad when they kink a hard Pex line !!! Haven't see that one before.
Glad you were able to find it. If you need to redo it You can get all of the connection from Home Depot. Pex line, clamps, tool, or the Sharkbite fittings, no tool needed.

Careless and lack of pride is the only reason it would come that way.

You should forward that picture to the Bighorn brand manager, as well as the Landmark and Big Country managers since they are all built on the same line.

Yup...pretty sad to see that and the technician not aware of causing it during the installation chore at hand.
