Freshwater hose

This is my very first attempt at this so I apologize ahead of time. The coiled hose with a regular hose connector at one end and what looks like an air hose connector at the other end is broken and I need to know where I can find one. Also, my refrigerator completely quit. Would it be better to buy a regular wood paneled Heartland refrigerator or would a regular refrigerator in black ( my appliances are black) be OK? Thanks.

Hi djh0815,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and to the family. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

You probably need to post some pictures of the hose and where it is hooked up. It kinda sounds like maybe a hose to blow out the water system for winter protection, but hopefully someone else will have better info than me.

For your fridge, if you are on 120v power all the time, a regular fridge would work, but if you are not, or off 120v for more than 4-5 hours then you probably need to stay with about the same type. Not necessarily bought through Heartland, but available through multiple sources.

Be sure and check out our Heartland Owners Club. Join us at a rally when you can and meet lots of the great folks here and make friends for a lifetime.

Enjoy the forum and your new to you unit.

Jim M

Also, you may need to make a couple more regular post before forum will allow you to post a picture. :)

A MUST for the propane/120 volt AC refrigerators used in RV's is 12 volt DC power for the logic circuit board that is the "brains" of the refrigerator. Do you have any indicator lights or interior lights working on the refrigerator? You problem MAY be as simple as a blown fuse. A new refrigerator of the same type could cost you as much as $1700. It is a difficult task to remove the old refrigerator even for repair.

It sounds like you are new to the RV world. You need to have a professional RV tech work with you on your problems, or possibly recruit another RVer in your immediate area to assist you. The normal hose connections apply; you may have some add-on instant connect adapters on the hose ends. BTW, you should only be using WHITE supply hose that is free of harmful chemicals for drinking purposes.

If you are new, I would look for some RV self-education online, this site looks pretty good: http://www.money-saving-rv-repair.com/rv-electrical-systems.html

It sounds like you are referring to the "shower" hose at the UDC connection panel.
Replacements are available from camping supply stores or Amazon too. Coiled Hose

Welcome to the HOC forum. Sounds like you have a new or late model unit for you state you have a coiled hose. Also you user info says you have a 365 Landmark but the year posted is 2005. So if you have a new Landmark 365 you should be under warranty for your refer and maybe even for your water hose for the outdoor shower. Let us know what year unit you have.

It is a 2005 and the hose is used to blow out the water lines when we close it for the winter. It may not have been original to the camper but the end is bent so we can't use it. Thanks!

The repairman that everyone at the campground uses, stated that he could put in a regular refrigerator for x amount of dollars, repair the board (can't remember his exact terminology) for x amount of dollars, or replace the fridge for x amount of dollars, each option getting progressively higher. We did replace the fridge in our camper at the beach with a regular 110 volt and it was fine, but that camper was not a Landmark either.

The coiled hose sounds like it might be the shower hose in the Universal Docking Center (UDC). You can probably get one from Heartland Parts. Call Heartland Customer Service at 877-262-8032 / 574-262-8030. Have your VIN # ready.

If you have a 2005 Landmark, you would have a gas absorption fridge that runs on either electric or propane. You can probably buy a replacement that will slip right into place from Camping World or your local dealer can order one.

To convert to a residential refrigerator that runs on electric only, unless you never move your trailer, you'd have to do some electric work to keep it running while towing - more batteries, inverter, transfer switch, similar to what Heartland puts into newer RVs that come with the residential refrigerator. There's also a pretty good likelihood that you won't find a refrigerator that's exactly the same dimensions as the old one - which means some cabinetry work will need to be done.

That hose hooks up to a fresh water fitting and comes with a spray nozzle on it. It used to flush the sewer hose and rinse anything off on the off door side. It is not for winterizing or blowing the lines out. There is a coupler for it to connect to below the gravity fill and fresh water connection. It also will fit in the fitting on the door side in the basement for and outside shower that is mounted in the bulk head.
