Front electric landing gear question

Not that I can tell. If it was grinding on that metal it would be the full length of the landing gear and not the section. It goes further up in the leg. I'll snap a picture when I raise the camper higher to hook up.

OK - was just curious how those scrapes were getting on the outer leg and if that is contributing to any issue you may be experiencing.

There is a good chance that some of the problems in the landing gear are showing up as damage like this. I was told by the dealership that the claim would be investigated as a owner complaint and that they would look at it and it would be a warranty item. Sooo I think I will invest in some quick slide out stands rated at 10k lbs and place them just under the landing gear area in case they give out.

Get a couple of 20K bottle jacks and some wooden blocks.
They will serve more than one purpose.

Peace

If someone is near their trailer could they do me a favor and grab your inner landing gear tube and see if it moves up and down freely? I can grab mine and move the tube up and down quite a bit. I didn't measure it.

Hey Bones, I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. I can check anything you need me to on mine tonight, just let me know what you need.

A set of heavy duty automotive jack stands will hold it up. If it's not on concrete be sure to put 3/4" plywood under the jack stands so they don't sink.;)

Thanks I'm taking my medium duty ones about 6k each stand I think my 20 ton stands would be a little overkill and they are heavy.
On the landing gear What I was doing was trying to see how much play the inner tube had when not on the ground. I still had my trailer hooked up to the truck and I let the gear down about half way and I grabbed the inner tube. The one the screw attaches to and the leg with the holes attaches to. I then moved the leg up till it stopped and then down till it stopped. When I hook up tonight I will measure the amount of distance the leg moves. In my picture it is the portion that has the damage on it. That leg seems to move up and down a lot. I know there is going to be play but not sure how much is standard. Thanks for the help.
