Running lite truck I usually get around 20 mpg on highway. Pulling the Road Warrior fully loaded for camping I get 11-12 mpg. This is mostly flat ground in the Great State of Louisiana. --2009 Dodge 3500 DRW w/6.7 Cummins Long Bed w/Quad Cab & Big Horn Package

Just back from Alaska, and I averaged 13 miles per imperial gallon for the trip (calculated from actual fuel used) I have a 4.10 axle and run with EGR disconnected. I generally run 1700-1800 rpm with no problem. Cummins torque peak starts around 1500 rpm. I have not found it necessary to drop a gear, I left the six speed auto to do it's own thing. Considering the size of my rig, I'm quite happy with my mileage.
