Gateway - 2017 Gateway 3800rbl

We just purchased a 2017 Gateway 3800rbl and were trying everything out. As it was freezing outside we turned on the furnace. Immediately it started blowing warm air but it was simultaneously blowing cold a/c air as well. Warm air blowing from floor vents and cold air blowing from ceiling. DH turned off the a/c breaker so we only had warm air but obviously we shouldnt have to do that. Can you tell me what the problem might be and how it can be resolved?

Thanks,
Gigi & Jack

Hi JacknGigi,

Congratulations on the new Gateway and welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

If you check the thermostat, you'll find the FAN mode is set to HIGH, LOW, or MEDIUM, which causes the A/C blower to run continuously anytime the thermostat is in either HEAT or COOL operation. To stop that, change the FAN mode to AUTO.
