Generator, yes or no

Been full timing for 5 years and have never required a generator. We only stay at parks or our kids yards. If I had a MH where space or weight wasn't an issue a gen would be nice .If you have one I am sure you will put yourself in places where you can use it.I guess what I am saying is that it depends on YOUR rv lifestyle.

Getting closer to ordering a 3160 or 3685 but is the generator worth the big $. We do not dry camp but just wanted for backup for storms. We won't have a residential refer. We are full timers living in tip o TX. Read the specs on amount of LP fuel used and seems like a lot. Just wondered if anyone else uses a generator and if the fuel use is that high. Thanks

You are going to use fuel, no matter what. But for the money its hard to beat LP when you buy it right. It is going to cost you more that is true, but how much is it worth to you not to have gasoline or diesel around. I think you can buy some small generators like honda's and hook them in parallel, that way you can run one when you only need one or two if you need two. That will cut fuel consumption way down.
