getting too cold

My 2012 Roadwarrior air conditioner won't cut off when it gets to the preset temp. when set at 72 degrees it cuts off when the temp reaches 64 degrees. is this a problem with the thermostat or control board.?

Is your thermostat mechanical? Could be contacts welded shut.

If you have the Dometic Single Zone thermostat, cycle the mode to OFF and press the + or - button to see what temperature the thermostat is reading when it cuts off. If it's reading 72, start looking for heat sources affecting the thermostat. We have plexiglas on the entry door which allows the afternoon sun to hit the thermostat. Another possible heat source is air rising from the basement, in the plumbing area.

Is the thermostat set on "auto"??
