Goose Island State Park - Texas

Yeah, we were there a couple of years ago and it is a great park. There are two separate sections. The one you are talking about is a nice heavily wooded area with a lot of sites for anything from RVs to tenters. The other section is on the beach area along the shoreline. This whole area has been completely redone and has all new cabanas with tables and hookups (no sewer). There is a long fishing pier. We got there on a Tuesday and had to wait one day to get a site where we could back up to the water (TPWD doesn't let you reserve sites like the COE does). We got a temporary one across the street for the first day. Here are a couple of pix of where we camped in our North Trail.

Chris, I just remembered when you make your reservation you have to reserve a site on the water or the other part of the park as they do them separately. Mike
