Look on the frame above the drain pipe. There should be a half inch hole with the rod and handle like black water. Mine came loose and fell off. I had to get needle nose plyers and pull the threaded rod to open valve and drain water.
We had the same model and year. Lost 2 rods. Had to call Heartland, the rods in the store didn't work. I added some stuff to the threads so they would not come out again.
I went to Lows and made a handle out of threaded rod and a few nuts to lock it on and the other handle forever. All the hardware and handles were in the loose hardware section.
