Grease on the 5th wheel or a lube plate. What do you recommend?

I put grease on the pin and on the jaws of the hitch, and use the lube plate as well.

Are there different size lube plates? I have the 10" and it's not quite covering base of my kingpin...

Thanks.

Different thickness's

I think standard is 1/4" thick and there is a thinner version for those that have minimal clearance between the pin and jaws,

You don't 'need' to cover 100% of the saddle.

That is really sweet. Is that custom made? IF not , where did you get it?

Well this is a no brainer: Lube plate. I have never seen such a unanimous recommendation!
Thanks

We purchased and installed ours at Dually Depot in Elkhart. I am not sure where you purchase elsewhere.

I bought our lube plate at the dealership the day we picked up the Prowler 2 1/2 years ago.

It has been to Vegas, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and all over Colorado, and despite being a little dirty and some grease, it is still working just fine!

I use a 12" diameter Lube Plate made by Reese, which is the size recommended by Reese for my hitch, which is the Signature Series.
I don't have the part number handy but I do carry a spare with me also.
I had to order mine because I've only seen the 10" in RV stores.
I also Lubricant the King Pin and Jaw of the hitch.

Grease on my Sidewinder and the wedge. Works very well! Lube plate can not be used in this case.

That's the one! Or at least very similar. But the installers at Dually Depot didn't do as nice an install as you did, Jerrod!
