Where is the switch for the front door side light?

Do you mean on the back of the lower kitchen counter directly across from the entrance door?
Any markings or text near the switch? I'm referring to outside light between the bedroom window and the front cap.
Does any other light come on with this one? Maybe it's a bad bulb.

Resolved. The light in question is the 'D/S Security' light and it is just burnt out.

My confusion stemmed from the operation of the porch lamp. It seemed that
turning the security sw on or off changed the way the light detection and motion sensor
of the porch switch worked.

Further testing suggests that turning the porch off and on again changed the way the light operates.
(enabling or disabling the motion/daylight sensors)

If that is NOT the case I don't mind being corrected.

Glad you figured out. I thought you were initially talking about the porch light. I am not sure if the switch would impact the motion sensor or not as mine doesn't have a motion sensor light.

Motion sensor lights often cycle through ON/OFF/ON/OFF where the first ON puts it into motion sensor mode and the second ON turns the light ON continuously.

Yes, that's how mine works.
And when in sensor mode it needs to be dark before the light actually turns on.
I was turning the porch light on with the security switch off
and then the porch light off and on again with the security switch on.
I attributed the difference in operation to the position of the security switch
rather than the second off/on of the porch light switch.
