Heartland offering TrailAir?

Just got off the phone with our dealer and he told us that Heartland is moving from Mor-Ryde to TrailAir. Back when we were doing our research Heartland was offering Mor-Ryde only. And this is the first I've heard of them offering the TrailAir.

The TrailAir costs more and that's what I'd originally wanted but was told they didn't offer it. I budgeted for the Mor-Ryde.

Any thoughts on the two?

I have no experience with the MorRyde, but I do with Trail Air.
I had the Trail Air on the last rig. On this rig I have the Trail Air with Tri Glide.
All I can say is I love it.

Peace
Dave

Sorry for my confusion but I thought Heartland had always offered Trail Air. MorRyde was not an option.

Ray, on all of the quotes I got from heartland dealers the option was Mor-Ryde. I asked the owner of one of the dealers and was told that Heartland did not offer TrailAir.

Now I'm being told that they do offer TrailAir and are phasing out the Mor-Ryde. Furthermore, I'm told that Heartland does not install these pinbox at all, but that the dealers are authorized to do so? So essentially I'm paying for the pinbox twice. I really hate that.

Another option is to get it with the standard pinbox from the dealer. The purchase a Tri-Glide, Fifth Airborne or Mor-Ryde from wherever you get the best deal and either install it your self or have it installed. They are not difficult to install as they are a bolt on item. It's possible your dealer will give you a good price as well, but it never hurts to shop. Tweedys, E-Trailer and others will sell them online and ship to you. If nothing else you can use their prices to see what kind of deal the dealer is giving you...Don

I do know the dealers at some spots have been adding these. Even seen a 2011 on the lot with the standard Trail Air. Thinking I will just go with the Mor-Ryde, if its still an option when we order ours. AS I'm thinking about getting the cover and reworking it where it will work with the Mor-Ryde. Just looking I think I can rework it to fit with the Mor-Ryde in less then 3 hours or so including painting it.

Then If I don't like that I can add the
Trail Air with Tri Glide myself. Plus doing it this way, If for some reason we were to ever buy a new unit. Just replace the air one with the other and add it to the next unit.

Keep in mind these are not a "one size fits all" item. There are specific models to fit specific trailer frames....Don

Don Thanks for that also. Had not given that any thought. But then again that is what is great about places like this. Always someone to watch our for my dumb times. LOL Knew that in the back of my mind. But was not thinking it through.

Hi Alice,

Currently, the published, optional pinbox for Landmark and Bighorn is the Mor/ryde pin box. If you feel the TrailAir or TrailAir w/ TriGlide will be the best fit solution for your setup, you can ask your dealer to submit a "special build" request to their Heartland Rep and a cost will be quoted. If your dealer is unwilling to put in the request, kindly phone Heartland directly and ask to speak to your regional rep.

We want you to be happy Alice and I hope we can accomodate your needs on your new coach.

On Edit: Oops - I see you have ordered a Big Country. Still awesome! Pretty sure what I stated above will go for BC too :)
