Heat in garage

First night running heat in our new RW 362. Just curious how folks typically heat the garage area. Both my kids sleep back there but realized there are no vents back there for the heat. I'm worried they'll get cold in the night. What do other folks do?

Is there an AC unit in the garage? If so, it probably has (or can be installed) a 1500 watt heat strip. It's surprising how much heat it puts out for the size.

Yes, there's an AC unit. I do see where heat strips show up on the thermostat. I didn't realize that's what it was for. I will try that.

Thats usually the end of the 120V runs is the front of garage...very doubtful there is anymore recepticles than what you have found.

We use a double element Buddy heater (with 1 lb propane bottles) that sets next to the wall between our 2 sets of HappiJacks. 5-10 minutes first thing in the morning takes the cold edge out of the air VERY quickly.

I have a 2017 Cyclone CY 3611 JS. Heat strip in garage is virtually worthless. Heartland needs to upgrade the roof top unit. If there is a heat getting to the garage from the furnace, it's useless too. We used a electric heater and it worked well, but for close to $100,000, you'd think Heartland would have done a better job of heating the space.

Another recommendation to Heartland. Place controllable dampers in the floor vents. Mine has none so the master bathroom blows like craze and steals air to the remainder. I place a mat over the vent in the master bathroom and bedroom, until i can purchase new vents with dampers.

I met a family at the lake a few weeks ago and he wired his garage with a 30 amp and a 15 amp so he could plug into the same pole as with the 50 and not rob power from the RV with auxiliary heaters, etc. in the garage.

Have you tried moving the diverter on the face of the AC unit so all of the heat goes to the garage?

Yes sir, I have used both positions. The 1st position that runs the air through the 4 roof registers, the quieter option. And, the 2nd position that pushes air straight down into the cabin. The 2nd position works better, but if really cold (near or below freezing), isn't sufficient to make the space comfortable. Additionally, I measured the heat using my laser pointer and it was about 85 degrees. The furnace's floor vents push air at about 115+ degrees, depending on which floor register.
