I installed the speed switch when I upgraded to the Hunter. Low speed did not cause a problem for us. Truth be told, however, we did not need to run the A/C much last summer in northern Michigan. Of the 90 days we were actually in the trailer, I think we may have used the A/C on 10 of them. Most days, we had decent shade and gentle breezes and used the ceiling fan or an oscillating tower fan in the bedroom.
