How do I replace "Break-Away Switch Key"?

Hello,

While moving my RV the emergency brake release pulled loose from the rig. How do I reattach ? I can't even get my head in the opening to see where it attaches.

It looks like it should be easy to reinsert if I could see where it fits. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

The metal clip should slide right back into the switch. But it sounds like you can't see the switch, maybe because you have the optional pinbox cover. If that's the case, you may have to remove the cover (at least once) so you can see the switch assembly.

And of course you'll need to work on cable routing so it doesn't happen again.

Also, be advised that your battery is being used to apply the breaks the entire time the emergency connection is broken. If it's been a while, you're battery may be dead.

You may be able to flex the plastic pin box cover out enough, on the driver's side, to see the breakaway box. The plunger just pushes back into the hole. You may have to be a little assertive with it.
