How to rotate tongue jack

On my Torque Extreme Lite Toy Hauler I can't let my tailgate down by just an inch or so. If I could rotate the motor on the jack shaft 90 degrees the tailgate would miss the motor (switches) Screw hole don't line up except facing forward. Can anyone tell me if and how this can be done. Thanks

I'm not sure if your just trying to rotate the motor on the shaft. That would depend on specific make and model. When I installed our electric jack I rotated the whole assembly 90 degrees where it bolted to the frame. Then I could lower the tailgate.
Worked great.

What brand is the electric tongue jack? On my SOB I have a Barker VIP electric jack and you can rotate the motor head 90 degrees. To do so there are set screws just below the head and once those are lose you can rotate. The holes in the jack taht attach to the frame will not line up as you have discovered as they are not a uniform consistency.

Check to see if you have set screws and also check with the manufacturer to see if this is possible.

My jack is a LCI made by Lippard. 3500 lbs. There are screws under the rubber grommits on either side. If
just loosening then to rotate the motor would not be a problem if this is the way to do it.
Thanks

Since it is an LCI power tongue jack I do not think you will be able to rotate the head. I would contact Lippert support to be 100% sure.

Calling Lippert will be you best bet. I can't find any install info online for that particular jack.

Our Bulldog jack had extra holes in the mounting plate so you could just rotate everything during install.

Thanks. I'll call Lippards today

Called Lippard this AM They said just loosen the two bolts on the side of the
motor and just rotate it to where you want it and retighten the Bolts

11/3/2015 Tried loosing the 2 side bolt to rotate the head. Did'nt work.
Called Lippert again. Now was told there is no way to rotate the head like I
was hoping it would do. May have to fix an adapter where it bolts to the tongue.
Or is there some way to set the receiver back an inch or so, so the tail gate will miss the jack head???

Sounds simple enough. Let us know how it comes out.
