Mandatory evacuation for all of Hatteras Island beginning Thursday at 5 a.m. The Park Service campgrounds on the Outer Banks closed today at Noon. Storm potentially will come just over the Buxton area of Hatteras. Expecting as much as 5 inches of rain and 20 foot seas, with sound side flooding in some areas. Storm should pull out fairly quickly Friday. If anyone is headed this way to camp or vacation, you should call before taking the trip here. If NC 12 washes out again it will be a few days before visitors are allowed on the island.
