Hey everyone
I recently had a problem with my 2013 Cyclone 4100 5th Wheel Toy Hauler. The hydraulic motor would kick in to retract the feet and retract the kitchen/LR....but it would not extend. I could hear the motor running but I could tell there was no load on the motor. I spoke to Heartland and they gave me schematics, but said I would probably need a pump assembly. I was able to reverse the two hydraulic hoses on the pump and got the feet extended, and the Kit/LR extended and just got a chance to remove and inspect the pump assy. The idea of spending $1600 on a pump kinda hurt my feelings, so I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to fix it, especially since I have a 30 year history in auto transmissions and hydraulics.
Once I removed the pump, and removed the reservoir from the bottom, I could see two tubes....the one that is larger with the brass screen is a pickup tube. Since Heartland said this was a dual pump, I wondered if there should be TWO pickup tubes. Sure enough, the pickup tube had fallen off the pump assy and was just sitting in the fluid down in there. I gently tapped it back into place and put it all back together and she works fine now.
I hope this helps save someone some money!!!
