Innocence is priceless

One Sunday morning, the priest noticed little Alex standing in the foyer
of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names with
small American flags mounted on either side of it. The seven year old had
been staring at the plaque for some time, so the priest walked up, stood
beside the little boy, and said quietly, "Good morning Alex."
"Good morning Father," he replied, still focused on the plaque. "Father,
what is this?" he asked the priest.
The priest said, "Well, son, it's a memorial to all the young men and
women who died in the service."
Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally,
little Alex's voice, barely audible and trembling with fear, asked, "Which
service, the 9:45 or the 11:15?"

That's funny. I'm sure as a kid, there were services I thought I would die before the sermon was over.

;) Now that's funny!!!

We had a similar preacher that regularly ran over, causing us to be at the end of the Sunday buffet line at the local restaurant. One of our congregation a retired Army Chaplin, decided enough was enough and brought an old wind up alarm clock. He set it for the appropriate time and hid it in the pulpit. Just as the preacher was nearing the end of his allotted time, and drawing his second wind, the alarm went off. The church erupted in laughter and the red faced preacher got the hint. That was the first Sunday we beat the Baptist to the restaurant!!
