That congestion is holding up a lot of stuff.
My daughter just went through a long wait after ordering some furniture.
Was held up for a month or more waiting for the ship to unload.

Peace

This West Coast Seaport slowdown/lockout has been in the news out here for quite a while. Supposedly, all the financial and benefit details have been agreed upon for a while, but DETAILS OF THE AGREEMENT LANGUAGE have been holding up a final agreement for many weeks. Estimated cost to the U.S. economy is about 1 BILLION DOLLARS A DAY. Some Senators have called for the President to invoke the Taft-Hartley Act to get the ports back to work. So far, he has just sent the Labor Department secretary to meet with both parties.
California Agriculture growers have had produce rot in containers awaiting shipment, and many farmers are taking big losses due to this shipping problem. They already have enough challenges with the 4 year drought.

Sounds like the lawyers have got their fingers in the mess. The problem we have in the Houston TX area is low crude prices. Many of the oil servicing companies are laying off thousands of workers and many well drilling projects are shutting down. Low pump prices are benefiting the general public but you can buy gas if you ain't got a job. Good luck in getting the ships rolling. BTW several oil refineries have had labor problems also.
