I have been wanting to change all the lights on the Horn to LED's. Found some on e-bay today. The place is in Elkhart. $60.00 will get 15 marker lamps and $70.00 will get 4, 10 led stop/tail lamps with pig tails. Plus about $20.00 shipping. So is this a good or bad deal? I cant find anyone here in Socal thats any cheaper. Bob:confused:

Bob; Check with your local parts stores. I got mine from NAPA, they sell Trucklite. I think the part# for the clearance lights is 2060, they are a direct replacement.about $8 ea. The stop & turn are 20 LED show truck lights can't remember the number, but were about $16 ea. I think the pigtails are the same.Talk to the counter guys maybe they will sell you wholesale. Thanks John and Dennis, yes Dennis it is the same guy. The ones at harbour freight are only 5 LED lights, at least the one here. The ones from Elkhart are 10. At $34.00 a pair, it is about what it would be at harbour freight for the 5 LED lights. John, I will drive over to NAPA in the morning and see what they have. Bob P.S. I cant get the HF in Hemet to answer the phone :(

I got my "10 led" rear lights at Harbor Frgt for the $13 sale price. Pics below. I like the idea of the led markers too so that doesn't seem like a bad deal you found on ebay.

I just went to HF this afternoon, and the lights are on sale for $13.99, they may only be 5 LEDS, but they are much brighter than the original lights.

OK, you guys are costing me a lot of money! Mark went down to Napa today and bought the two tail lights they had in stock. Each has 24 lights and cost $22! He ordered two more so we can blind every driver who dares to get close to our trailer!!!

On some of these roads, I'd feel a lot more comfortable as in the lighter the better. I want something that will light up like a Vegas Casino when I drive at night.

Don't want some 18 wheeler to tell me..."Sorry man...I just didn't see you in the dark"

I like lights, the more you have better to be seen. On my Freightliner, I have 97 led's and the trailer I pull has 60 led's. Any truck sales dealer should handle led's and surprising they're usually not badly priced.

I called Harbour Freight today. The 10 LED lamps are $20.00 each. Thats, well you do the math. And just about $10.00 in fuel to the store. $68.00 for 4 and $12.00 shipping, seems like its about a wash. Maybe save $10.00. Bob:D

I ahve found some that would replace the interior bulbs. I will wait for you to sit down.....$60 Canadian for each unit. That would be $200 to replace the 4 bulbs it the living room. The good thing is less than 1 amp to run the LEDs. These are "top quality" LEDs They will come down in price given some time.
There are cheap LEDs our there, so be careful. I am playing with some 1 watt LEDs, but they are not the answer yet

Settle down my son. It will pass. I did order the stop/tail lamps from Harbor Freight today. 10 LED with the rubber mounts. Cost $65.00 for 4 with shipping and tax. Not a bad deal. BTW, if you order some, make sure you get the right part # 93263-3VGA. There are 2 different styles. Bob:D

I've used these guys before for my truck, my Sundance, my motorcycle and my house.

I replaced the dome light bulbs in the living area, the bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom with the 1157 LED "light pads" and they are awesome. MORE light, LESS heat and power draw. This way there is NO wiring, nothing to do but swap bulbs (NOTE ... some LEDs are polarity sensitive, so if you put the bulb in and doesn't work, flip it around and it will work).

I replaced all the 194 incandescent bulbs with LEDs. I suggest yellow for the amber lenses and red for the red lenses because the white bulbs are so white they tend to make the lenses looks pale yellow and pink (unless you're into that look ;))

My eyes.....oh my eyes

Lefty, which lamps are needing to know about? The tail-lamps are from Harbor Freight. You can google harbor freight. The marker lamps. I just went to E-Bay and typed in trailer lights. They come in a set of 13 and thats what it takes to do the whole trailer. 6 amber and 7 red. Lefty I reread the whole thread. On the 1st page, 3rd post down is the URL by DennisZ. We aim to please "Buckwheat" :p Bob:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Hey guys, I've been thinking about changing lights also but I was told that if you change stop/tail lights then you have to change the flasher in the TV because of the reduction in power use. Is that so and if so what flasher would you use?

OP, that might be the case. But trucks set up with a towing package usally have the correct flashers in them for the lamp load. I dont know what TV you have (no sig), but GM uses a flasher module, not a tin can type flasher. After I replaced the tail/stop/turn lamps with LED type, I did not notice any difference in the timing of the turn signals. I will let you know, if there is a difference after I add 4 more side turn signal lamps to the BH. Im not sure if LED's add more resistance or not, but I think it would be minimal. Bob :D
