This is more of a repair than a modification.
On my second trip out with my new metal plates they busted off... I think it was going over the railroad tracks!!!
To fix I used a left over piece from my truck bed mat, it came 8 ft and was cut it down for a shortbed, but any old rubber mat will work. I cut out & drilled the bolt holes in a template that mounts behind the taillight and hangs down to hold the license plate.
Now if I drag the plate will flex and should stay on? Guess I should also consider some drag rollers.
I'll have to give credit to a post on eTrailer for the idea, they recommended using an old mudflap off the side of the highway.
