While working in the underbelly I had to take the spare tire off. When I did I saw the spare was mounted on a steel rim. Luckily I had an unused aluminum rim from our previous Landmark. So I took them to the local tire store and had them mount the spare on the aluminum rim. I was amazed at the difference in weight. So if you can get your hands on an aluminum rim you can save some unnecessary weight by swapping rims. I mean every little bit helps.
