Main a/c not starting correctly

So I recently bought a 2011 3450ts big country and everything has been good until yesterday. The a/c started acting up. When it tries to turn on it goes one and off a couple times and you can hear it click. It does that until it finally starts. But if you take the thermostat and turn it down farther then needed it turns on like it should. So my first thought was the thermostat is going bad. It has the plain analog thermostat on it.

Well after work and a quick trip to lowes. I picked up a house hold thermostat and all is good now. And Thanks for the welcome.
