Mounting TV Bracket in Basement Ceiling

We have a BH 3875FB we purchased in July. I would like to mount a TV in the basement and I am looking at a bracket that mounts in the ceiling and the TV swings down for viewing and back up for storage. The ceiling material is a hard core material. Before I start drilling holes is there anyway to find out what is behind the core and how strong it is to mount. I also do not want to drill into any plumbing or wiring.

Any help would be appreciated.

I couldnt find anything of substance in my basement ceiling of my BC 3070re. So I installed a 3/4 inch piece of plywood the lenght of the ceiling and supported the ends with plywood that runs down the front and rear walls of the basement. Covered everything with matching felt from a craft store.

There is aluminum frame work under the bedroom floor/basement ceiling. You should be able to use those to mount a piece of plywood to. Look to see if you can find screws that hold the black fuzzy stuff to the ceiling.
