New Mallard Owners

Hello everyone...

We are Duane and Jeannette Hume (collectively known as The Humes), and we are now the proud and excited owners of a 2021 Mallard M27. We're busy getting it more homey and dealing with the best leveling system, television mounting, and just internal organization...you know...everything should have a place. We're planning our first road trip for the end of this month, perhaps over to Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma. Our home base is in Bella Vista, Arkansas, halfway between the Walmart head offices and the Missouri state line. Ultimately, we're likely to visit relatives and friends in California, Montana, Florida, and the Carolinas.

Hope to see you down the road!

Welcome to the Heartland family! Enjoy the new rig! One of our favorite spots for a quick break here in Oklahoma is Sequoyah State Park on Fort Gibson Lake. They have some great RV sites, some with full hookups, and the park is huge. We can heartily recommend it.

Nice to hear from you John. Sequoyah State Part on Fort Gibson Lake is a lot closer than Tenkiller and real easy to get to via 412 coming out of Arkansas. We might just check that out on our way down. Just need to get smart on OK fishing licensing and any military discounts/options. Will post again as our plans firm up. BTW...great rig!

After struggling for hours using the lego-style blocks on our first attempt to level on our driveway, we opted for the curved levelers. The one from Home On Wheels came with two curved levelers, two non-slip mats, two chocks, a tee-level, and a carrying tote. After positioning the levelers and mats, we simply backed up onto it until it was level side-to-side...took about five minutes. We couldn't be happier!

Congrats on your new Mallard. Have fun with it. You won’t know exactly what you’ll need as for as modifications until that next trip. When you get home, you’ll start thinking about what will make life easier on the road. You’ll change those things, make the next trip and the fun modification cycle starts again. Enjoy.

Thanks, Flick. That is precisely our plan and why our initial trips will be short and nearby. We're both pretty thorough, but time has convinced us that you never know what you've forgotten until you need to use it.
