Just joined the club, seems like there's a wealth of good advice here.

We just purchased a 2013 pioneer 25 bh, it has a two way fridge, wondering what happens whilst underway ( no hydro, no gas)? Doe's the fridge stay cold enough for extended periods ? is it fed power through the batt's ? will I need to install an inverter ?? I am planning on having at least two or three batt's.
We've read the manuals but no mention of this.
Were planning a trip next Spring to AK. so will have lotsa questions for you Pro's
Will try a few queries at a time so as not to confuse the issue.

One thing I did notice after towing home ( 60 miles) one hub on each side was warm, not HOT ( left front and right rear )?? the other two were cold.
I did play with the brake settings in transit ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the fridge will run on propane while in transit, the hub thing is most likely the brakes heating them up. The cold ones need to be looked at, they need to be adjusted at a minimum. If they are properly adjusted, they need to be investigated further for proper operation, are they getting power?? are the magnets and shoes full of grease?? etc..

Some people run the refrigerator while towing, others don't. If it's cold when you start, and the weather isn't too hot, and the day isn't too long, while the inside temp will increase, it should stay cold enough. I have a 4 door fridge and leave it running.

If set to AUTO, and the propane tank is OPEN, when shore power is disconnected, the refrigerator will automatically change to LP operation and continue cooling while you tow. One thing to note is that if you have air in the propane lines, you should light a burner on the range for a few seconds to make sure the air is purged. If there's air in the line, the refrigerator may fail to switch over to LP operation.

Thankyou for your replies, I'm not sure I feel good about travelling with the propane open, I think I may look into an inverter and a larger batt. bank for the fridge only.
I will contact the dealer re: brake adjustment, would like to know how to adjust brakes, just for my own peace of mind.
I have other queries but I will try to put them in the appropriate forum categories.
Being a transport driver I have travelled extensively across the States, strangely enough, not so much in Can. Were looking forward to our "Adventure"

Trailertrucker,

After you get your battery array and inverter running the fridge, consider posting a new thread with some pictures and a description of how you set it up and how it works - how long it'll run the fridge, how you're managing the batteries, etc. Someone may want to copy your solution.

I have 10 gauuge battery wire from my truck and the truck will charge the trailer batteries at 23 amp rate. My fridge draws a little over 2 amps AC. So it can be run from my inverter and did before.

I dought the OEM battery wire I had been using would keep up. The fridge runs often on our rvs not like house fridge.
