Not what I expected

Not what I was expecting my first post to be about but our camper has been ours for only 3 months and we have issues already. Woke up Sunday morning to a leak. Not sure where it's coming from but it's definitely there. We bought a 2015 Elkridge E30 from RV wholesalers. I just hope we can get it fixed before to much damage is done. As a family this was a huge deal for us ( I'm 33 and my wife is 32 and we have a 5 year old and a 4 year old ) just bummed at the thought of what may happen because someone else didn't do a good enough job.

Have you been able to determine if it is a plumbing leak or some other type leak? Plumbing leaks while annoying are usually fairly easy to fix. Where is the leak/water located?

It's in the bathroom and the bottom of the closet in the bunkhouse. It's going down the wall behind the toilet and along the bottom of the shower. Havent been able to determine the source yet.

Unfortunately stuff happens with RV's, but if you need help resolving the problem either on your own or with a RV Tech this forum can help, we have all had issues. I'm working on my first leak and my RV is 3 years old. Mine is near the UDC inside the storage compartment behind the wall. I thought I had it solved but no success, I think I have it ID'ed so hopefully I can repair it (PEX connection). Good luck solving yours.

I haven't determined exactly where it's at yet. There is water at the bottom of the wall behind the toilet and along the bottom of the shower. There was also water in the bottom of the closet in the bunkhouse.

Make sure you have a pressure regulator controlling the pressure on the city water. Some campgrounds can have extremely high water pressure that can cause leaks.

Check the water connection to the sink in the outdoor entertainment center if not there perhaps then the shower connections. I am not as knowledgeable as others but those are areas I would check first and should be screw on connections

Another thought is the Shower Stall surround, lots of folks have posted that the glass panels of the stall hadn't been caulked correctly and leaked. That would be another area for you to check on. If water appeared after using the shower you know your headed in the right direction. These are bouncing houses and are prone to all sorts of issues.
We fix issues as it bounces and new ones appear as we use them.

We noticed it in the morning as soon as we woke up. I rolled the awning in because they were calling for 2" of rain and high winds. And it was rolled up all night while it rained and that's when we saw it. I know that that was the source of the water. Just gotta find where the leak is.

We had plumbing issues from the 'get-go' with the Big Country we had. Had our Landmark almost a year and just this week had 2 leaking elbows. They are still using pinch compressors; get Shark.

I had water leaks for the first couple years and wouldn't be surprised to have several more. First thing to change if you haven't already is the to change the plastic check valve at the top of the water heater to a brass one. It's not if it's going to crack..it's when...Good luck...Don

what is this mysterious check valve you talk of?????

Bones, for a period of time, the industry had to shift away from brass check valves in the potable water system due to regs in 2 states regarding lead content in the brass the make it malleable.

This got resolved and a few years back, the industry was able to source the new formula brass. Your new coach is likely good to go.

The valve Don refers to is on the back, top of the water heater (the output).
