NYC campgrounds

We are thinking of going to NYC and West Point. We are looking for advice on campgrounds, things to do and how to do it.

[Two Hands]

When we visited New York City we stayed at the Liberty Marina and RV Park. It is just a large gravel parking lot with water and electric hookups next to a marina in Jersey City, New Jersey. It is the location that is good. If you get up early you can walk a very short distance to a commuter ferry which takes you across the Hudson River to Manhattan and will bring you back in the evening. We opted to walk about a mile to a train that took us under the Hudson to the World Trade Center where we switched to the NYC subway system to easily go anywhere in the city.
