We have a 32 ft Elkridge 5th wheeler. We are planning a trip for this spring or summer along the Oregon coast. What the road like on 101 for a 5th wheeler? Thanks for any advice.

I personally find no problems with the section of the beautiful coast highway. Sure it is two lanes with some passing lanes, there lots of places to pull off and enjoy the sights and activities. Lots of choices for RV parking both private and State Parks. Some of the parks are a little confining and yet others are well suited for your size. It is busy in the summer so reservations are recommended. Other than Spring break you will find the Spring a great time to travel. Can be moist then but generally the storm rolls in and then are gone a day or two later.

Lots of people drive motorhomes and 5th/trailers on the hwy. There are some narrow parts and some really curvy parts, but it should be fine. Sunriverman had some good advice about reservations. If you are in the area of Winchester Bay around June 11-13, stop on by our rally!

Seems like we travel the OR coast yearly! Beautiful trip with lots to see and do. You will have no problem towing your rig this route. The only issue that bothers us is 101 is quite rough in some areas. Be sure everything in your rig is secure! Lots of great places to camp. OR state parks are second to none!

Happy Camping!

Thanks for all the feedback. Now all we have to do is complete our driving class and we will be ready to hit the road.
