Rain, Headlights, and OBLIVIOTS

Simple solution ..... if the motor is on so are the Headlights! I have done this in whatever I am driving ..... no matter how big or small!

Of course this does take some common sense ..... so this would not apply to the drivers previously discussed

Here in the South Plains of Texas ..... they make eye contact with you ..... then watch you get closer before they pull out ..... of course they usually pull out across at least two lanes of traffic so you are usually not effected .... except for the rise in your heart rate

On our new 2010 Ford truck you can put the headlights in the auto position and forget about it. The auto postion the headlight come on automatically when the lighting get dim or when the windshield wipers are turned on. They go off when the lighting is bright enough (daytime) and when the wipers are turned off. Smart lights for dumb (or forgetful) people. "Ford has a better idea"
That is pretty cool! Chevy has been doing that for a while now but not the part about when the wipers get turned on. That is a good idea.

Yep.. this is just what we need. All vehicles must have LED headlights and taillights so you can be seen in the rain. Headlights are on automatically. There will be so much light you can't see the road. Automatic dimmer for the headlights, seat belts, child seats, air bags, helmets on all persons in the vehicle. Air pressure monitors for tires to maintain the proper setting to conserve fuel and safety from tire failure, cruise control so you don't speed and monitor signals from all speed signs so you don't excede the speed limit. Breath analizers so you can't drink and drive, license identification sensor to make sure you are a valid operator. Mileage monitor so you can be taxed for the amount of miles that you drive. GPS monitor so the they can tell where you are at all times. Perscription monitors to make sure you can see correctly while driving. Weight monitors so you won't load your vehicle more than the recommended weight. Identification monitor so they know who is traveling from one state to another. Finger print sensor to make sure your not stealing the vehicle.

I am sure our government will be able to find more things to keep you safe and take care of you. And they need to help the auto mfgrs keep the price of vehicles up so they can provide larger income for their executive and have more things to tax us on to keep the government financed so they can bail out big business.

Hummm.. Did we really pass up 1984. We can continue and build a perfect socialist country. Then no one has to be responsible. We will be taken care of from the cradle to the grave.. New world order is on it's way.. Yea.. that will work..

Now that you've taken this topic in a direction it probably should not go, it's time for the moderators to take a look at pulling it before we enter into World War V (we're already in WW IV).

I hear ya John, I'm going to let it run for now but if it continues to go political, one of us will shut it down. It's initial direction was safety in my opinion and I felt it was doing OK.

Seems as if those driving the Beltway on I-95 have transitioned to I-75 in Tennessee. Today has been bad here. We were 6" under rainfall for the year last weekend, and today we are 2 1/2" above.
