Howard, why don't you and Sherry join us at Pechanga in Oct at our Socal rally. Escondido ain't that far from Temecula.

Take a look at adding disc brakes to the trailer. The closer you get to the GCWR on the truck, the bigger the impact disc brakes will have.

I have too agree with Jan and Bill. But payloads from manufacturers are not realistic. From the posts your almost at your limit. You might want to consider a bigger truck. I learned the hard way. Braking, stability especially going down hill with a loaded trailer can have some anxious moments.
Good luck
Howard

What most people miss on payload capacity is that on a spring suspension weight carrying ability is based on equal loading. Our over the road tractors used air bags that were self adjusting to handle discrepancies in load, but our trailers were spring suspension. On a 5th wheel hitch, if the top of the trailer sways to one side it will overload the springs on that side, causing a change in steering, making it extremely easy to over correct. It's not just a matter of being "under" or "at" your capacity, you need to have a safety margin.

It will be very interesting to see how the Eco Diesel does pulling that Sundance. Hey RicMartin, how is it going so far and what were your actual numbers ready to tow?
