Rear Window Blind Bind

How does one remove the valance box that encloses the rolling blinds? I have removed the lower wood-type screws on either end of the valance and thought it would lift upwards but it does not seem to want to budge. The black out blind is binding against the top of the vertical wooden decorative piece and I think it’s bracket has slipped down.

You need to look closely as many times there are screws that get hidden in the material when they are driven in.
Sometimes a cheap inexpensive magnetic stud finder helps.
Also those wood-type screws you refer to require a #2 square drive bit.
