Roof type and thickness

This is our first year owning a 2018 Heartland Wilderness WD 3375KL. We are getting ready to clean and store it for the winter. Can someone tell me what type (material used) of roof it is? I ask this so I purchase the right cleaner and sealant for it. Also, does anyone know what the weight limit on this roof is? I'm a pretty big guy and I don't think the wife would be too happy if I ended up falling through . Thanks everyone...I really appreciate your help.

I found information on the Dicor site very useful. There is a video of "Determine whether your RV roof is EDPM or TPO RV roof." As for walking on the roof it is "The bigger you are the more aware of weak spots you'll need." Basically walk softly, avoid concentrating your weight in one spot particularly around openings for vents, sky lights, AC, etc. I have seen over the years some big folks servicing their roofs. Also You can message Dicor with your roof questions and they will usually answer within a day or 2.

Most cleaners I've found are approved for either roof. Just read the label first. But be sure to check out their videos. Hope this is helpful.

I usually try and spread my weight between two trusses the best I can.

When it comes to sealing, if something doesn’t look right, don’t be afraid to just scrape it up and lay down a fresh coat of Dicor. On our previous RV, the original owner used the wrong type of sealant (looked like spray on flex seal) which quickly began cracking. I was in a time crunch so I tried to go over it with some more flex seal. This quickly failed and lead to water damage and me gutting the front of the RV.

A few layers of Dicor are ok, but it eventually needs to be removed and replaced with a fresh layer. Just make sure whatever you are putting the Dicor on is really clean so it bond’s well.

As for whether the roof is walkable, I couldnt tell from the website. I would call heartland and just ask, plus they also would most likely know whats the material on the roof as well. Does your rig have a ladder on the back, from the factory?

No ladder on the back.

Traditionally, if an RV does not come with a ladder, it means the roof is not considered walkable. I can say that on our old RV, which was an ultralight travel trailer, it did not come with a ladder, and the trusses were made of thin metal that didn't look like they could hold much. I always walked on that roof and felt fine doing so trying to spread my weight access two trusses the best I could. That being said, I am only about 160 pounds, so your experience might be different depending on your size. I have seen people discuss building platforms to spread their weight across the roof. Nothing fancy, just using some wood to spread their weight across more surface area.
