Shaking of trailer

Hey
I have a question for all. I am setup and leveled. But when one of us walks in the trailer it feels as if there is no stabilizers or front pin stabilizer down the front jacks are only extended a small amount so there is not a lot of play. I am thinking that it could be bad springs. Could someone enlighten me this is not the first time we have had a RV so I know that this is not normal. we have a 09' 3055 BH

Re: Shaking ot trailer

msgtray, this is something that occurs on nearly every towable RV in the industry. There are a few things that will help. Wheel chocks! Stopping the wheels from the ever so slight movement will remove a good portion of what you feel. Next, stabilizer bars. There are several out there and we have JT's front & rear that help quite a bit. I personally have added a pair of scissor type stabilizers just in front of the axles. We still fell some movement but not nearly as bad as before the JT's and extra jacks.

Your springs are not the cause of this movement but it would be a good idea to inspect them and your shackle bushings anyway. Just from a Preventative Maintenance perspective.

I just built a set of stablizer legs for about $20-30. That's what you need. Google them and you'll be set. JT Strong Arms, ect.

Like you, we too have a 2009 BH 3055RL. We had the same condition until we bought the BAL Wheel Chocks and installed the stabilizer bars to the front landing gear and the rear electric jacks. Those two things made a world of difference and decreased the movement we felt in the coach.

Too bad you live in NV.
I just added Ground Control to my trailer and if you were closer, I would give you my stabilizers I had built. FREE-worked great but dont need them anymore.

Bi Pod or Tri Pods will help as will chocks. We agree about the aftermarket stabilizers offering more stability. We've had no movement -well we were in a mini earthquake once--in 5 years. Diana

We put on the Eliminator stabilizers. They look and perform like the JT Strongarm but don't const as much. The Eliminator is available at Camping World. Remember you are sitting on rubber tires. Just like sitting in you car if someone moves around you feel it. Even with all the stabilizers you can still feel slight movement.

I will have to say ours was pretty solid last summer. Use the Bal-chocks on the tires. Dont be afraid to cinch up the rear electric stabilizers some. I use to let them just touch the ground, now I watch and let them raise up the back about an inch. I even check back every week or two and see if they settled. Made a huge difference in the movement of the trailer. Not 100% move proof but very livable for us. Will have the say that the new flooring construction is far and away better and more solid than our old model and that may have made some difference.

I use the Roto-Choks and sissor jacks in front of the axle and rear of the axle on both sides, by doing that my coaches movement is at the very minimum.

I have changed the angle of the shocks when I changed springs, They are at 60Deg from the horizontal from 30Deg. The unit when on the landing legs and stabilizers is much more stable because of frame flex at the wheel area.

I bought a set of pickup cargo box retainers at Northern Tools on sale for $10 and attached angles to the frame and now I can sabilize the front and back. I found that once the front is held the back can just be left on the stabilizers and the unit is very stable.

BAL wheel chocks, Strong arm type stabilizers on front landing gear and rear stabilizers. Also slide support jacks under living room slide. The slide supports made the most difference, they take the rocking from side to side out.

Hydraulic auto-levelers will eliminate all shakes. No need for any additional leveling aids or stabalizers. Well worth the price.
