slide adjustment

hi all. About a month ago I posted a question and got answers on how to adjust our slide. It contacts the wall on one top corner and has dug into the contact paper finish. Hasn't dug thru the luan top layer . I tried to adjust the slide up, 1/16 th at a time checking to see if it came off the wall. raised it up 5/8 th with no movement of the slide, so I reset it to were it was. looked pretty straight forward. Did this with slide out. the adjustment bolt looks like a really simple way to make precise small adjustments. yes I did loosen the two nuts before adjusting. seems like it should have worked. rather not plane the interior trim . any suggestion? thanks in advance.

Have you measured your slide when out and when retracted to see if it is out of plum. You need to measure from a fixed point that is the same for both sides. If your are only contacting one side my best guess is that your slide is crooked.

haven't measured it but when out the trim inside is half inch off wall at bottom and touching at top. other side gap is off to but not touching wall. gap being off a little doesn't worry me but pressure on wall might cause a problem with structure. the place it occurs is next to the door maybe 16 inchs. i'm sure they doubled the studs at slide and door but don't the pressure to cause problem that has to be fixed someone other than me. right now seems like just a small thing.

I think so. with slide out, loosened two nuts and the loosened adjustment nut, adjusted bolt, could see it moving [rust mark] but didn't move off wall. no sign it moved inside. readjusted to original rust mark and retighten. the way its set up to adjust is nice and easy. maybe not having it out all the way?

Once you adjust the slide a little at a time you will ned to move the slide in and out a couple of times then check. You could also be suffering from overstroke as well as a misaligned slide

X2 on what Bones said. Did you loosen the 4 bolts on the "feet" and adjust the vertical bolts down? That will tilt the slide up or down. Send me a PM with your PH# and I can walk you through it.

did you post pictures of the slide and areas of contact earlier?

I jut saw the icon to attach image. haven't taken pic yet. went ahead and winterized. think i'll hold off on the slide till spring. try to change out the tomax this winter before we take it out next year. thank you for taking time to reply to my post. couple of months working over time to catch up from new truck and rig purchase and i'll be asking about tires, and the slide again.

didn't loosen 4 just 2. was only going to raise one side a scounch. maybe loosen both arms if only adjusting one? I did winterize so won't mess with slide till spring. try to replace tomax tires this winter. thank you for your response and offer to call, don't know how to pm [ is that like a email to you alone so no one else sees phone number?]
