The Schwintek troubleshooting guide located in the tools section of this forum discuses the procedure in the video. You can see

But the Schwintek controller has some other on board diagnostics as well. When your slide stops working you might want check the controller to see if its is flashing a code. The combination of red and green lights will flash to provide the code. I'm also attaching a trouble shooting decision chart. It provides info to decode the flashing lights and then where to go from there to diagnose problems.
