Slide out lubrication...

Has anyone used the "Thetford" slide out lubricant in the spray can? Says it can be used for "rails and gears" Can it be used for the slide out pulley system as well? Has anyone used this on pulley systems?

I used it on a Schwintek a lot but never on a pulley... but these products are all pretty similar. What's important is that they are a "dry lube". Anything sticky or that leaves a residue will collect dust and dirt over time and become an abrasive in the system. You also don't want something with an aggressive solvent because over-spray could damage nearby parts like seals.

Which parts of the cable system are you trying to lube? The cables should be free-floating and shouldn't be rubbing on anything. I could see lubricating the pulleys so they spin freely, but I think they would do better with more of a grease to make sure it stays in place.

^^This^^. The gears and rack on the can is referring to exactly that. What are you wanting to lube on your pulley system with it again?
