Slide Seal Lip Repairs

Some of my slide seals have small (less than 6 inches) ripped areas in the sealing lips of the seals. Has anyone been able to repair these problems? With the high cost of seals and the big job in changing them, I was wondering if this is a viable alternative? I was thinking of using thin sheet rubber, along with rubber adhesives; or maybe Gorilla brand duct tape along with helper adhesives. Advice???

Are the small rips in the wiper seals or the "D" seals? Wiper or squeegee seals will be much more difficult to repair than the "D" shaped seal. Some pictures would be of help in order for us to give some advice.
