Solid steps and a door that only opens 90 degrees

We have a cyclone 4005 2017 model year. Looking to change out the steps to solid steps. I’ve looked at many installs and videos but can’t find if they can be installed with our door only opening to 90 degrees and not all the way against the camper. There is also a strut on the floor threshold for the door. Has anyone been able to install and secure them adequately or have any information about this issue? Thank you. Marty

I'm not sure if I'm envisioning what you're describing properly, but if you mean something like the Moryde StepAbove or the Lippert SolidStep, the door will probably be in the way. The way ours is hinged, we can't pull down our steps until the door is at 110 degree or so. That being said these steps come in various widths and you can probably just get one size narrower if that solves your problem (e.g. the 26" SolidStep instead of the 30"). You'd lose a bit of comfort using them but eliminate your issue.

Depending on the brand you get they have somewhat different mounting methods. We've got the Moryde StepAbove setup and they have a flat "hinge plate" that gets screwed to the floor just inside the door. See below. The steps themselves then attach to the hinge plate via a pin, and this pin is removable in a pinch - it's difficult to get out, but lets you completely remove the steps if you're in a really tight situation.

Go with the Torklift Glow Step. You will not be disappointed, they are exceptional steps and great customer service. I have them on my Bighorn... love them

Thank you both very much for the information. I figured our door would be a problem so I will look at the torklift glow step.

The strut on the threshold needs to be removed. On our Road Warrior, the door going into the garage is like this setup. We decided at that time not to install the solid steps back there because of this reason.
Once you remove the strut, the door will open farther. But then you will need to figure out how the secure the door to keep it open.
