Does anyone know if SR 36 out of the Redcrest Ca area is doable with a 40' Bighorn. We want to get from Redcrest to Red Bluff.

Thank You

Most people refer to this road coming from Fortuna Ca. to Redding, Ca. I don't think I have driven this with the Bighorn, but I have driven it several times. While it is one of the twistiest long roads in the state, it is crossing a forested mountain range, and thus logging trucks traverse this route regularly. Many 15 mph switchback curves. There isn't a good East-West alternative road for about 60 miles or more North or South. People do this every day in RV's, but it isn't easy.

This road is NOT recommended for large Semi trucks and RV's. If you you at a google map you will see a lot of switch backs and not many pull outs.

Stay away and use Hwy 299 just north of Eureka.

Thanks for the reply's everyone. I'll be in the Ancient Redwoods RV Park for a week, maybe I'll try a trial run on each route.
Thanks again.
