Surround sound

I have a 2011 Heartland GreyStone 29mk and want to know if anyone out there has tried to hook up the TV to the surround sound? My hearing just isn't what it used to be and having surround sound I think would help a lot. If you have please let me know how you did it. Thanks

Hi Grey Ghost,

The equipment changes all the time, so even another 2011 Greystone owner may not have exactly what you have. So it's usually a matter of checking for what type of audio output connectors are on the TV and what type of input connectors are on the surround sound. The manuals will usually save you from pulling equipment to find out. We have a lot of the surround sound manuals and some TV manuals in the manuals section of the forum in case you can't locate yours. Here's a link.

Connections vary a lot from device to device and manufacturer to manufacturer, and sometimes age of the equipment makes a big difference. We have an owner-written RV Audio Connections Illustrated User Guide that may help you if the connections on your equipment aren't straightforward.

We tried hooking the TV to the installed surround sound and found it lacking. We bought a Sony sound bar with a wireless subwoofer and love the sound.

Good luck with whatever you decide to try.

We did similar, we bought a Phillips brand soundbar/sub, from WalMart. Can finally hear the TV over the furnace or AC!
