Might as well get it done when you get here as it will expire the same time as your plates do. Can't gain anything by waiting.

Correct Clif, will get the truck and MC done PDQ on returning to the state since we use them a lot and don't like having to worry about LEOs. However, getting the RV inspected is a totally different animal. Not all inspection stations can, or will do, large RVs. Also, need to get the rig to the inspection and, since we full-time, don't just want to close everything up and move just to return and reset up. So, prefer to do it on way in or out and way in is usually at the end of a long day traveling so default position is to do it on the way out. So far has worked for us.

Any trailer registered for 4,000#? or 4,500#? must be inspected and have brakes and a break-away switch. If registered for only farm use I think (think?) you may be exempt.
