Third Frig door handle?

I have a Dometic Mdl# NDM1062 I have had to replace the door latch/handle on the average of once a year. They have all broken in the same place. It appears to me it's a flex problem with the two small flexible tabs on the handle . While I appreciate that things wear out...this is too ofter and appears to be a manufacturing deficit. Does anyone know of better aftermarket replacement.
The handles/latches are not cheep...over $30.00!

I replaced ours once in almost 8 years. Not too sure why it broke but maybe from trying to open a door without depressing the lock? It would be the only thing I can think of.
